Description
Amruthotharam kashayam is a classical formulation mentioned in Sahasrayogam in Jwara Chikitsa, used in Ayurveda for many years for its effectiveness in many ailments. Amruthotharam kashayam tablet heros three ingredients whose worth has been proven since ages for conditions of ingestion, stomach upsets, bloating, heartburn, and many other gastrointestinal malfunctions. Along with treating indigestion, it also helps to lower fever with its immunomodulatory function provided by Ardraka present in this combination.
The combination is prepared using 2 parts of Amrutha (Tinospora cordifolia), 2 parts of Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), and 1 part of Ardraka (Zingiber officinale).
Ardraka helps to increase the surface area available for the absorption of nutrients within the small intestine. It also lightens the digestive fire and improves its quality, thus ensuring proper digestion without the formation of Ama. This digestive stimulant is also an effective antiviral agent with a great immunogenic response.
Terminalia chebula is an antimicrobial agent that also has Anuloma action, i.e. mild laxative in nature. It has the most optimal endotoxin removal property that may be consumed daily. Tinospora cordifolia or commonly called Giloy is an excellent antiviral agent with potential adoapotegic action. Its immunomodulatory action also optimizes all three bodily entities, especially the Vata and Pitta.
According to Ayurveda, all diseases are due to the accumulation of endotoxins as a result of impoverished digestion. Ama, this endotoxin is the causative factor for all ailments. Even respiratory infections such as Cough, unless attacked by external pathogenic ornaments, have the same Ama in their etiology as well. Thus Amruthotharam kashayam is an effective combination that helps to impart optimal digestion while managing the body against viral manifestations.
Most often when afflicted with a simple cold, our body gets too weak to even respond, but Amruthotharam kashayam is enough to provide relief from this fatigue as well. It also helps to reduce the feb=ver with its mild antipyretic action. In conditions of severe fever, it is mixed with other formulations for better results. Its strong anti-inflammatory action can also be taken as a suggestive marker to reduce the elevated levels of uric acid content in the blood.
