Description
Balaswagandhadi Thailam is a unique oil used in various Ayurvedic therapies. It is undoubtedly effective for relieving joint pain caused due to arthritis and weakening muscles. Made up of a plethora of medicinal herbs, it has sesame oil as its base ingredient. Also, sesame oil, castor oil and ghee are together used to make the base oil. This variant of Balaswagandhadi Thailam is known as Balaswagandhadi Kuzhambu. Its combination has Vata-pacifying quality.
Based on the Kerala Ayurvedic principles, the oil has external application. It can be domestically used for a long period without any side effects. It is applied lukewarm to relieve the affected areas and is lightly massaged over. Apart from massaging, the oil is also used for Dhara therapy, thereby helping to cope with insanity, depression, and severe headaches. All these herbs, combined to form Balaswagandhadi Thailam, serve various purposes.
The oil, when lightly massaged over the affected area, relieves joint pains. It acts as an immunity booster for fever patients. The oil is also used for infants and pregnant ladies for increasing muscular strength. It also works well for patients with neurological problems such as neuralgia. Apart from this oil is also useful in treating like rheumatic complaints like paralysis. The oil should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
